So, after Jackson got a medal at his last soccer game, Caleb decided he wanted one too! Caleb informed me this spring that he only wanted to participate in soccer practices, not games. He gets so freaked out with everyone running towards the ball and eachother. And he doesn't like it that he can't just make a goal without someone getting in the way, pushing him down, or blocking it. Every fall game consisted of him riding the sideline, holding his coaches hand, or huddled in my arms crying. Joe would offer him a dollar to just get on the field and play! We tried slurpies and new matchbox cars (his favorite things ever). Nothing was worth torturing himself! Poor little guy! So when spring rolled around, I decided the torture was over! If he just wanted to go to practices that was just fine with me. The minute Caleb saw Jackson's medal he asked me if he had any games left. Lucky for him, he had one left. We went, he played awesome, he loved it, and came home with his prized medal (and a slurpee just for good measure :)! I'm going to have a bunch of medals made for stuff like ...not whinning, cleaning up his room, and peeing in the toilet- not all around the toilet!
