Poor Kitty!

Yeah, I've been succored again into getting another pet! Not that we have lots of animals in our house, we just do one at a time. They just don't seem to last long around here. We have tried out fish, frogs, turtles,an ant farm, grow a tadpole, two dogs (my personal favorite-apparently what i like doesn't count though), and finch birds. We actually got a kitty a few years ago. We took a family trip to wal-mart (always a good time) and Joe begged me for one of the stray kitties some guy had round up to sell out front. He's begging me in front of the kids mind you -not cool! So if I say no, I look like the mean Mom and He gets to look like the super fun Dad! So I caved and a few weeks later I had to find it a new home...thanks Erin for helping me out with that. She ended up taking it to a shelter because it was mean to her kids too!
We, I mean I, flushed the fish because cleaning the tank was so gross!! I was knocked up with Ainsley at the time, so any time I would clean the tank I would throw up. I can't remember what happened with the frogs, but we had two of them. The turtle was a gift from my brother that the kids ended up getting salmonella poisoning from. We freed "Bob" in the Provo River for family night even though he was purchased from a store. The tadpoles were a scam!! They came in the mail already dead so we can't take any credit for that one going bust. But the birds...I take full responsibility for! Apparently they can not eat bird feeders made with peanut butter and bird seed, who knew! Caleb made the bird feeder at preschool in the freakin winter time (like there were other birds around to eat them). So I thought it was a great idea to let him put it in the bird cage. I can only guess that the peanut butter caked around it's tiny beak suffocated it. Opps!
The first dog was from the pound and we found out pretty quick why somebody let it loose. The second dog was my favorite! He was a really cute boxer lab mix, but he and Joe did not get along at all!
So here we are, back where we started, with a kitty! Jackson is already training it for "Pet Star" on Animal Planet so there are high hopes for this one! The other day Rachel, one of the cute neighbor girls, says to me "you guys are so fun! you get a new pet all the time! Like when the old one dies." I guess we'll see how long it lasts! Poor kitty doesn't even know it's cursed with us!
