Jackson is off this morning for another week of science camp. He went all last week and had such a great time and learned so much we couldn't help but sign him up for the second week! If you want to check out the blog here is the site...http://www.sciencecamps.blogspot.com/ . It's Jackson's adorable kindergarten teacher who runs it over at the Canyon Brook Private School in Provo. It isn't exactly cheap, but is totally worth it! They will be having another session soon and I know his teacher said there are a few openings left.
Yesturday Jacks came out of his room dressed in complete camo with his binoculars around his neck. He informed me that he was heading outside to see if he could spot some California something or other bird (he used the real name, I just can't remember it :). He now knows all kinds of totally useful information about birds and is talking non-stop about it. I love it that he gets so excited about learning! He has had two amazing teachers in both kindergarten and first grade.
Jacks has had some difficulties with reading and it has been a bit of a struggle for him. Joe and I have worked very hard with him to help him. He wants so much to improve and really tries hard. I have been trying for the past three weeks to find him a tutor with no luck yet. Obviously the right thing has not come along ... So if anyone knows someone who is interested in making a little extra cash tutoring (and knows what they are doing), please, please let me know! He has serial order issues and we are trying to find someone who is trained with reading recovery. We are just hoping to help him catch up a little bit this summer. He is aware that reading is harder for him than his classmates, and it would be great to give him a little boost before the second grade starts. And if your kid is into nature or science check out the science camp blog!!

there is always Sylvan. I don't know anyone, but we have all the magic tree house books and a gazillion others that are good for boys, so if you need something to read to him feel free to come over. Good Luck!
That boy is so dang smart..did he find his bird he was looking for?
Wish I knew someone to help...that science camp sounds awesome, I'll have to keep that in mind in the years to come.
Science camp sounds great! What a fun summer activity. I've heard that if you post a request on a message board over at BYU that you can find great tutors for a good price. Good luck!
Jackson is so stinkin' cute. Such a little nerd, but that is SO going to pay off later in life! Keep him in science camp! :) Yeah, and I'm sure you could TOTALLY find s student at BYU to help. My old roommate Nicole used to do that so she could get letters of recommendation for grad schools.
