Bedtime isn't usually my most favorite time of the day. Especially when Joe is not there. Jackson being the little angel that he is, asks me to rub lavender oil on his feet and his pillow and then he's out like a light. But Caleb and Ainsley... it can be exhausting! I'm sure many of you know the routine... I'm hungry, I need a sippy cup of water, this sippy cup is leaking, now I need to go potty, can you sing me another song, you only told me one story, I didn't really like that story, yada yada yada! So tonight after I tell Ainsley her own personal princess story (I make them up- maybe that's why she doesn't always like them :) she says it's her turn to tell ME a story. I'm sure it was just a new tactic to prolong bedtime, but I went with it. Here's how it starts..."Once a time there was a beautiful princess (pause), princess Payless...". It made my night I tell ya! I love it when something really sweet comes out of their tiny little lips!
Today was one of those really "crazy busy" mommy days where I took like a 2 minute shower and couldn't remember if I even used conditioner. Pretty sure I didn't because I'm a bit of a mess :). I had a few extra kids along for just about every ride, not much seemed to go as planned (cause it usually does ;), and we have been out of mountain dew for a few days and Walmart was out of it too! I totally laughed out loud about that! Anyways, I have just been so happy still. I loved being able to listen to MOST of conference this weekend! And today I kept hearing President Monson say how fast time goes by and that soon we will just be left with the memories. Allot of times when really crazy days like this come, I just feel drained and like I am digging deep just to make it til the end of the day. Maybe today is different because I'm not running on empty spiritually :). Maybe! I read my scriptures every couple of days, sometimes a couple days in a row. BUT, I eat at least every 2 to 3 hours! Not that I think I should read the scriptures every 2 hours, but I know there is definitely something to consistency and I am recommitting! For me, I know I get personal little messages when I read the Book of Mormon. Even when it's about some crazy war I've read a hundred times and still can't make sense of. So anyways, I'm thinking this entry looks a little more like a journal entry so I'll stop there; but hey, it's ALL a little messed up today. After all, Ainsley is using Payless as a name for her storytime princess!

Love it! I have been doing bedtime by myself for 4 nights and I am so worn out! I am getting really grumpy. I know you feel. I too enjoyed Pres, Monson's words... I need to write them on my mirror so I don't forget!
You are so cute. I loved this post. And Miss Ainsley is the cutest little thing ever. I love that she wanted to tell you a story! I can't wait for those days. But I do love the confusing jibber jabber I get right now!
There seemed to be a lot of great messages pertaining to Pres. Monson's talk. I can't wait to get that one and read it through again and again!
And yes, bedtime can be infuriating for me sometimes!
I love your blog! I too have those days where I can't remember if I put conditioner in my hair or not. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
That girl is so stinkin' cute! What a sweet little story. I laughed when I heard Princess Payless. :)
So cute! I loved Pres Monson's talk. It really made me want to take a step back and see how fast they are growing up. Bedtimes are hard. The other night I was so sore from tiling the new house that I broke down and had Marina get everyone ready for bed, then I let her stay up and watch TV as her reward. I know I am such a bad mom, but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do!
