Sharks and Tigers and Stripers? Oh My!!!

Last week Joe and I took our kids to Vegas for a little trip. Joe's mom gets time shares all over and she was great enough to offer us a week at a really fun resort in Vegas just off the strip. Thanks Jan!! It was over 100 degrees the whole week, but we had a great time! There is actually some fun stuff on the strip for kids. We went to the shark reef, saw the tigers, watched a few movies, ate yummy food, and hung out at the pool everyday! My aunt Mary and her family live in Henderson (just a few minutes away) and it was really fun to spend time with them! The one thing I could have done without is all the billboards and signs advertising trashy stuff, but I guess that is the whole point of VEGAS :). Jackson and I had a great conversation about it... He told me that he noticed that there were allot of people that didn't wear all of their clothes and that lots of people there didn't know about the word of wisdom. We talked about how lucky we are to have the gospel and the blessings that come from living the commandments. I am really greatful to live in such a great place where there are so many good examples for my children of good and they are not always bombarded with the not so good. Even though I didn't appreciate so much of the "not so good" in one place, I am greatful for opportunities to talk to my kids about it. Overall, it was a fun trip and it was nice to spend time together without all the worries of work and housework and stuff. We are looking forward to a fun weekend with my family at the cabin and Joe's family on Kiawa Island! Before we know it summer will be over and it will be back to the busy schedule of things. There is so much I have not posted, but maybe there will be more time for that once the kids are in school. For now, I am just reminding myself to enjoy it while it's here!

Sounds like fun--but between our two trips and your dumb hips, I've been missing you!

I'm so glad that Vegas still has something to offer the family. I'm glad that you had a great time! Next time we are down that way, I'll call you to see where the family fun is!

Love Vegas trips! I'm always trying to occupy the kids with a movie when we get into town. I love our little "bubble" of Utah!

Just had that same talk with M after our Las Vegas trip. Our fav part of our trip was swimming by the sharks at the Golden Nugget. Easily a favorite pool now.
